Yahoo Finance: CI SBH Asset Management Selects IMTC to Modernize, Scale Fixed Income Management Across Taxable, Tax-Exempt Portfolios

Yahoo Finance ran the PR Newswire release announcing that CI SBH Asset Management has selected IMTC for fixed income portfolio management across its taxable and tax-exempt portfolios.
SBH will run portfolio construction, optimization, trading, compliance, and reporting in one system. According to the release, that setup lets the firm execute more efficiently across accounts while giving its teams a more scalable operating model.
IMTC CEO Russell Feldman pointed to the pace of SBH’s growth as the reason the platform matters: “SBH is growing at a pace that demands infrastructure built for complexity. IMTC’s platform equips their teams to efficiently manage fixed income portfolios and deliver a differentiated wealth experience at scale, allowing firms to gain a true competitive edge.”
SBH now joins more than 60 IMTC clients, a group that includes T. Rowe Price, Franklin Templeton, Lord Abbett, and Nomura Asset Management.
For any firm adding accounts and mandates, the real question is whether its systems grow with the business or quietly hold it back. SBH has made its call.

Q&A
What does “infrastructure built for complexity” mean in fixed income?
Fixed income books carry far more moving parts than equity portfolios: thousands of individual CUSIPs, bonds that mature, get called, or become hard to source, and accounts with their own restrictions, tax status, and duration or credit targets. Infrastructure built for that complexity handles those details natively, account by account, instead of pushing them into side spreadsheets.
What should asset managers look for in a fixed income portfolio management platform?
Start with whether the system was built for fixed income or adapted from an equity tool, since equity-first platforms tend to leave bond teams patching gaps with workarounds and Excel. From there, check connectivity to order management, custodians, and trading venues, whether compliance runs inside the workflow rather than after it, and how the platform holds up as the number of accounts climb. IMTC connects to venues including ICE Bonds and MarketAxess and covers portfolio and order management, compliance, and reporting in one place.
Which firms use IMTC for fixed income management?
More than 60 firms run fixed income on IMTC, including T. Rowe Price, Franklin Templeton, Lord Abbett, and Nomura Asset Management, according to the release on Yahoo Finance. CI SBH Asset Management is the latest announcement. In a recent IMTC survey, more than 92% of clients highlighted IMTC’s ability to help them scale operations with confidence while modernizing their fixed income infrastructure.
